Rawalpindi: (Parliament Times) In order to overcome water crisis on permanent basis in district Rawalpindi for irrigation use and drinking purposes, the project of construction of five Dams has been approved.
According to media reports, Dadocha Dam at the cost of Rs 2 billion, Mohata Dam at the cost of Rs 650 million, Pan Dam at the cost of Rs 520 million, while Chanaan Dam at the cost of Rs 300 million would be constructed to supply water to cities of Rawalpindi Cantt and Islamabad.
On the other hand, Initial work out for the construction of Dadocha Dam has been completed while Dotara Dam will be constructed near Khan Pur Dam and electricity would also be generated from this Dam.
