LAHORE: The persistent rains in catchment areas has caused a medium flood in river Chenab.
According to media reports, the concerned authorities have issued a red alert for the villages of Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal and Gujarat districts as water level has touched the mark of 250000 cusecs and it is likely to soar further in the wake of ongoing heavy rains.
The Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) said that water flow at Head Marala was recorded 250,000 cusecs and outflow 180,000 cusecs. At Headkhanki, water inflow was witnessed 137,000 cusecs and water outflow 133,000 cusecs. Water inflow at Head Qadirabad has been recorded at 125,000 cusecs and outflow was recorded at 111,000 cusecs.
