BALKH, (Raja Furqan Ahmed) : Three senior Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K) leaders had been killed in a special raid on Sunday in the Northern Province of Afghanistan, Balkh, the Afghan General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) said in a statement. According to the statement, the three senior leaders, including; Mavlavi Ziauddin, Abu Omar Afridi and Ustad Salman Tajiki, were killed in the operation. The GDI also added that Mavlavi Ziauddin had been the acting governor of Islamic State-Khorasan and was in charge of administrative and judicial affairs. Abu Omar Afridi was a senior member of the Khorasan branch council and Ustad Salman Tajiki was a national of Tajikistan and a specialist bomb-making and military trainer. The statement also claimed that an operation was also carried out in Faryab province, which led to the arrest of Islamic State members involved in Killing the former governor of Balkh province, Dawoo Muzamal. Recently the interim government of the Taliban has intensified their operation against Islamic State hideouts across the country which led to the Killing and arresting of several militants.
