MIRPUR: (Parliament Times) AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan Monday laid the foundation stone of Rs. 240 million Palaak-Chakswari highways in this district. The project will be executed by the State Public Works Department. The project will facilitate the population of Mirpur, Islamgarh, Chakswari, Palaak, Dadayal and other adjoining areas with the comfortable road communications and travelling facilities.
Speaking on this occasion, the Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities for timely completion of the project. He was flanked by his cabinet colleagues including Minister for Information Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas, minister for sports, youth and culture Ch. Muhammad Saeed, minister for works Cb. Muhammad Aziz, MLAs Ch. Masood Khalid and Ch. Rukhsar Ahmed and other concerned heads of various nation building departments besides the officials of Mirpur Division and district administration.
Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Spring Tree Plantation drive in the district by planting a sapling at State Guest House in Dadayal. The ceremony was hosted by the AJK Forests Department. Meanwhile, Raja Farooq Haider Khan was accorded a rousing reception when he reached in adjoining town of Islamgarh on Monday afternoon on first-ever four-day visit to Mirpur district since he assumed the office as the Prime Minister of AJK after clinching a land slide victory in the July last year general elections in AJK.
He was received in the town amidst full-throat zindabad slogans for Pakistan, PML (N), Party’s supremo and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, his-self (Farooq Haider), Kashmir freedom struggle as well as the sister units of ‘N’ including Muslim Students Federation, Muslim League lawyers forum and the women and labour wings of the party.
