ISLAMABAD: The first batch of the coronavirus vaccine will reach Pakistan on Saturday by a special plane of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Thursday.
As per media reports , five hundred thousand doses will arrive in Pakistan from China. The PIA special plane will depart for Beijing on Friday and the national carrier will provide free service in this regard.
It is pertinent here to mention that Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar had on Wednesday said that the vaccination of front line health workers will start from next week as the system is in place.
He said hundreds of vaccination centers in the country will be administering the Covid-19 vaccine. Earlier, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) made an integrated plan for the vaccination of the Covid-19 patients.
This plan was compiled – keeping in view the best international practices and health guidelines – by federal government in consultation with all stakeholders and provinces.
