Srinagar : In occupied Kashmir, the of All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, and General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmed Shah strongly condemning the arrest of 31 youth from Nathnoosa area of Baramulla and shifting them to different jails have said that the puppet authorities have converted the territory into a big jail.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the action as the worst example of state terrorism. He said that this sheer lawlessness illustrated the egoistic and autocratic behaviour of the puppet authorities.
The APHC Chairman said that it was injustice that mourners were barred from sharing their grief for martyrs and even were not allowed to offer their last rituals. “It is shocking that police have filed cases against those who participated in a martyr’s funeral prayers,†he said. He demanded immediate release of Nathnoosa youth.
Syed Ali Gilani expressed his anguish over thrashing of students and teaching staff at Lassipora in Pulwama by Indian troops and said that there were distressing reports from every part of occupied Kashmir that Indian forces’ personnel were creating situation horrifying like that of 1990s. He deplored that the puppet authorities have converted occupied Kashmir into a big jail and every soul in the territory feels insecure in such horrifying circumstances.
The APHC Chairman said, records reveal that district Baramulla lists top where people have been slapped with draconian law, Public Safety Act, and detained in jails. “The authorities have turned Baramulla Joint Interrogation centre into a slaughter house and people are subjected to extreme torture,†he said. While referring to some top police officers, he said, “They are harassing the civilian population and taking undue advantage of their post and positionâ€.
Shabbir Ahmed Shah, who is under house arrest in Srinagar, in a statement expressed strong resentment over the arbitrary arrest of youth in Nathnusa. He said that the only crime of these people was that they demanded the body of martyred youth, Azharuddin Khan, to perform his last rituals. He said that through such actions, Indian police were pushing the youth to wall.
Shabbir Shah said that such of police actions should stop as they would yield serious repercussions. He demanded unconditional release of all arrested youth. “Our youth are sacrificing their lives for a greater cause and people’s affection towards the martyred youth is a natural phenomena,†he said.
