Karachi: Severe gas load shedding in the country hit the industries as several factory owners in Karachi announced to close their factories fron today (Sunday)..
“We are going to close our factories in the Site Area, Karachi from today (Sunday) as we are facing a serious shortage of gas,” said Salim Parekh, Chairman Site Association.
He alleged that the misadministration in the Soui Southern Gas Company was causing serious loss . He also announced a protest in front of Governor House Sindh on Tuesday.
On the other hand, Soui Southern Gas Company has convened a meeting today in which it will address along the industrialist representatives the current situation
While the Soui Southern Gas Company has once again decided to kept gas supply suspended to the CNG stations across the province, including Karachi today.
It’s pertinent to mention here, that CNG stations across Sindh had been closed for one week in this month when the Soui Southern Gas Company suspended the gas supply for undetermined period. It had claimed a serious fault in the gas fields that affected gas supply to the industries and residential areas.
This suspension had caused the closing of about 70 percent industries in Sindh. The issue grabbed the premier Imran Khan’s attention and he abruptly dissolved the Board of Directors of Sui Southern and Northern while the investigations against the managing directors of both companies had been started.
