Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The AJK Minister for Food Syed Shaukat Ali Shah asserts there was no shortage of wheat or flour in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to media persons here on Sunday he said there was adequate supply of flour and wheat from Tao Butt to Bhimber. AJK Food department purchases wheat from PASCO for the entire year and there is plenty of quantity of wheat in government depots, he added.
To a question he said there was also plenty of stock of wheat and flour in all flour mills of the State. Flour is available all the time in hundreds of government depots of all the ten districts of AJK, he explained. He further added that flour stock for six months has been made available in all the snowy regions of the State. The Minister categorically rejected the news terming them rumors that there was shortage of wheat and flour in the State.
“As per agreement between PASCO and AJK Food department, full quantity of wheat was being supplied in the State. Complaints cells set up by Food Department are already functioning at Rawalpindi and Muzaffarabad on shortage or substandard flour supply”, he maintained
