ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has summoned report from district sessions judge Jhelum within a month on the compromise deal reached between the family members of murderer and victim in a case of killing in the name of honor.
A two members bench of SC presided over by Justice Azmat Saeed took up the case for hearing Tuesday.
The accused Muhammad Waqar had killed his sister in 2012 and later husband of his sister had reached compromise deal with the accused.
The accused had filed petition in SC for accepting compromise deal.
The court while seeking report of compromise deal from district sessions judge Jhelum within a month has adjourned hearing of the case for indefinite period.
