Sydney: Lahore Qalandars’ development squad has qualified for the playoff to the final of five-team Quin Series T20 Mike Hussey Trophy, after finishing second on the table at the conclusion of the first stage of the tournament.
Qalandars’ last match, against Hobart Hurricanes Academy, was washed out by rain and only six overs play was possible, in which the team scored 36 for the loss of one wicket.
Sohail Akhtar and Mohammad Faizan were on crease with scores of 18 each, when rain forced them to leave the field.
The two other games, Sydney Sixers vs Hobart Hurricanes and Auckland Aces vs Sydney Thunder, were also washed out due to bad weather.
Qalandars gathered five points from four matches after winning against Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers, and losing against Auckland Aces.
Auckland topped the table with five points, above Qalandars on NRR, and has directly qualified for the final which will be played on Friday.
Lahore Qalandars will play Sydney Thunder Academy on Thursday in a virtual semi-final. The winner will meet Auckland Aces in the final.
