ISLAMABAD: (Three) 3 co-accused in supplementary corruption reference against former finance minister Ishaq Dar have been indicted.
NAB had nominated three persons including former president National Bank Saeed Ahmad, Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Raza Rizvi as co-accused in supplementary reference filed by NAB against former finance minister Ishaq Dar on February, 26, 2018 in accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income case.
Judge Muhammad Bashir of Accountability Court (AC) took up for hearing supplementary reference on Thursday.
The accused persons appeared before the court.
Counsel for president National Bank Saeed Ahmad told the court that his client has challenged his indictment in Supreme Court.
Judge Muhammad Bashir remarked he has respect for Supreme Court but no order has been received so far from apex court. We indict the accused persons. The proceedings will stand abolished when any order is received.
Later the 3 co-accused were indicted. They however pleaded not guilty.
The court summoned prosecution witnesses on April 11
Rizvi submitted an unqualified apology in court over his counsel’s altercation with the judge at the last hearing. He informed the court that Javed Akbar Shah is no longer his counsel.
