Karachi, (PR) : Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has condemned the attack by unknown armed men on Gulzar Baloch, news editor of the daily Azadi Quetta
and his brother Shoaib Aman Advocate,
and called the incident an attack on freedom of press.

CPNE President Irshad Arif, Secretary General Ijaz, and other officials said in a joint statement that the incident that happened to Gulzar Baloch, and his brother in the Machh area was highly condemnable.

They demanded from the government that it is the constitutional responsibility of the state to protect journalists and media persons from attacks by non-state actors, so the accused involved in this incident should be immediately arrested and brought to justice.
