22 of the arrested accused freed after they were founded innocent: District Police chief talks to PT:

MIRPUR ( AJK),  (Parliament Times) :  Mirpur police has so far rounded up a a total of 68 accused including the principal accused including a local Islamic religious scholar and hateeb (cleric) of local Jamia mosque in allgedly involved in March 29 Mirpur KFC attack by an uncontrolled furious mob staging an anti-Israel rally here. Police said.

“A total of 22 of the arrested accused were freed after they were found innocent as a result of detailed initial probe in to the tregic mishap”, said Mirpur Senior Superintendent of Police Kamran Ali who told our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao here on Friday that investigations against rest of 46 of the arrested accused including major accused were in progress.

The District police chief said that as many as three of the main suspects involved in the case of violent attack on the fast food outlet were on pre arrest bails.

The SSP disclosed that one of the major accused who stormed waving flag inside KFC outlet earlier before the March 29. this year has also been arrested.

Kamran Ali said that raiding and investigation police teams have identified more accused allegedly involved in the incident. “Efforts are underway by the police to net rest of the absconding accused.

Senior Superintendent of Police Mirpur Kamran Ali, said that police have sofar arrested three main accused including a cleric of local central mosque Mufti Ejaz and Ali Rizvi following the preliminary interrogation and information given by those already arrested in the case of storming upon the KFC outlet in southern Mirpur city of Azad Jammu Kashmir for its links with Israel.

Police have so far rounded up at least 68 of the accused allegedly involved in the tregic incident of attacking and setting ablaze the Mirpur AJK fast food out let of the KFC besides damaging adjoining private buildings in densely populated business hub at sector F /1 on Kotli Road in this city of over a million of Kashmiri expatriates. Of these arrested accused 22 were released after they were found innocent in the preliminary probe, said the SSP.

Surprise police raids are underway to round up rest of the accused found involved on the basis of technical evidences, the district police chief said.

To a question, the district police chief said that police teams were actively engaged to unearth the real culprits and master minds also and they would be netted and exposed in all circumstances, Kamran Ali added.
