MIRPUR (AJK),  (Parliament Times) :  Washington DC – based Raja Muzaffar, a prominent Kashmiri rights activist and Acting chairman of JKLF (Yasin Malikfaction), has welcomed the statement by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, urging the international community to take swift and decisive action to address the suffering of oppressed communities around the world, including in IIOJK (Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir State.

“Amina Muhammad’s statement, which highlighted the need for compassion, support, and empathy for marginalized communities, resonated with Muzaffar, who has dedicated his life to advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people”, says a message, reaching and released to the media here on Tuesday.
“The Deputy Secretary-General’s words are a beacon of hope for the people of Kashmir, who have faced decades of oppression and human rights abuses in IIOJK ,” Muzaffar said. “Her call to action is a powerful reminder that we must come together to heal the wounds of injustice and stand in solidarity with those who are facing unimaginable hardships”, according to the message.

Muzaffar emphasized the importance of international attention and support for the Kashmiri people, who have been subject to various forms of oppression, including military crackdowns, restrictions on movement and communication, and human rights violations.

“The international community must recognize the gravity of the situation in Kashmir and take concrete steps to address the suffering of the people,” Muzaffar said. “We welcome the Deputy Secretary-General’s statement and urge the UN to take further action to ensure justice and accountability for the suffering Kashmiri people in IIOJK”, he urged.
