LAHORE/Muzaffarabad,  (Parliament Times) :  Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, met with the undefeated Pakistan Deaf cricket team, which recently secured victory in the T20 World Cup after 19 years of dominance.

The meeting, held at the Chief Minister House in Lahore, saw Maryam Nawaz increase the prize money for the deaf cricketers from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. She also presented a check of Rs 38 lakh to the players as a token of appreciation.

Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered the immediate allocation of a ground for the deaf cricketers and directed steps to facilitate their employment in government departments in Punjab. Maryam Nawaz commended the cricketers for their outstanding achievement, emphasizing that their contribution cannot be adequately valued or compensated.

Furthermore, the Pakistan Deaf cricket team presented the Dubai World Cup trophy to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif during the meeting. Last month, the team clinched victory in the T20 World Cup by defeating Sri Lanka.
