How shocking and pitiful it is that 33 months ago a little innocent soul Priya Kumari was kidnapped on 9th Muharm ul Haram from her home town Sangrar, near Sukkur. It is pertinent to mention here, that incident occurred on the eve of Yome Aashoor. Reportedly she along with her papa went outside her home for serving free drinks in the name of “Hussaini Sabeel” to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain A.S. Perhaps, prior this no one had an idea that after serving Sabeel, while on the way to her home she mysteriously will go missing. Unfortunately, a span of two and a half years have elapsed but still innocent Priya is clueless and unrecovered. Since the day of her disappearance, her parents consistently along with civil society and philanthropists are demanding of her safe recovery but all in vain. More importantly, so far no anybody knows something about her whereabouts. Even despite hollow promises with affected family the Sukkur Police neither could recover innocent Priya Kumari nor ascertained her locations. Though in recent past, this child kidnapping case has been converted into one of the high profile cases of it’s kind in Sindh but nevertheless no any major development was made by inefficient, reckless and reluctant Police of jurisdiction and other law enforcement agencies. The previous and past track record of Sindh Police reveal that not only it always remained action less against criminal elements and law-breakers but also fully facilitated them. Perhaps this is why Sindh Police utterly failed to maintain law and order situation across the province. Surprisingly, on the other hand it is also a big querry that why the kidnappers didn’t bother to contact the parents of missing child for ransom money or other alternative demands from Police…?? Common people are of the view that Police have knowledge about Priya Kumari’s whereabouts but as some influential and politically supported powerful figures are involved in this high profile case so Sindh Police doesn’t take any stern action against perpetrators to recover kidnappee. Consistently, day and night the mother of Priya Kumari is shedding the tears of blood for her apple of eyes. Everytime she beseeches everyone with folded-hands to be kind enough, extend their consoling and helping hand to bring my soul Priya back at all hazards.Alas! Sindh govt and electables are silent spectators, speechless and uninterested in this heinous incident. Time and again Priya’s mother implores kidnappers saying that consider me as your own sister and for the sake of Allah Almighty please…. please kindly release my little soul Priya at the earliest as now I can’t tolerate further separation of my daughter and even can’t survive without her. Ofenly, she reminds we all that Priya is daughter of Sindh and consider her as your own child and feel the trauma and agony of a real mother. People belonging to different walks of life are too much worried about the silent role of Sindh govt and very disappointing performance of Sukkur Police in this perspective. The plight of innocent Priya Kumari is a black spot on face of enlightened and civilized Sindh. Recently, the civil society and media men have once again strongly raised and highlighted this burning issue through out Sindh Province. Every following day protest demonstrations are being held strongly demanding her swift, safe and early recovery from the detention of kidnappers. Through the courtesy of this newspaper, being a writer I appeal to Chief Justice of Apex Court of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, President of Pakistan, Chief of Army Staff, Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah and Inspector General (I.G) Sindh Police kindly play your significant role and come what may ensure the recovery of innocent Priya Kumari, the daughter of Sindh soil, and has been away from her parents since long time. The nation is pretty optimistic that the missing child will be in her mother’s sweet lap before the merriments of approaching Eid.
