United Nations Declaration of Human Rights (UNDHR) the Article 2 asserts that “Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms, without distinction of any kind, such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or another opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or another status.” According to World Economic Forum 2022 Pakistan is second worst country for women to live in. I would draw attention to the ways that women’s rights are suppressed in Pakistan’s remote areas. In Pakistan, societal inequality affects women. One of the biggest problems facing women is street harassment. Many of them are so terrified that we will be defamed and avoid having conversations about it. No proper guidance is given to girls oriented issues like how to prevent and respond to domestic abuse, there is a lack of appropriate support.Furthermore reproductive health aspects such as puberty education, access to menstrual hygiene products and healthcare services. It’s important to give proper education regarding these. Women are also deprived of proper education some of the reasons are cultural norms that prioritize boys’ education, lack of access to schools in rural areas, security concerns that prevent girls from attending school, and early marriages that disrupt educational opportunities for girls. Finally, politics is another domain where gender inequity affects women. Women are not well groomed in terms of political awareness. Where their father or spouse casts a vote, they vote. Because of the culture of political parties, they are also less active or receive fewer seats in the legislature. There is room for improvement in the path taken by women in politics. Women make up 49.6% of Pakistan’s population, and they work very hard in all spheres of the country’s life—politics, business, and education. Pakistan has been working on this issue, like the women’s march, which is done on purpose to provide equal rights to women. Also, NGOs like the Aurat Foundation and the Women Empowerment Organisation (WEO) have been working to promote women’s rights. This is not enough until the local native realises it and certifies that they give equal rights to women in their house.
