Attock: Kite-flying is completely banned in the district and police would deal violators of the ban with sternly.
This was stated by District Police Officer (DPO), Dr. Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan during an awareness walk organized to highlight the dangerous impacts of kite-flyers, kite-sellers, and drug dealers here on Thursday.
As reported by our district representative Faisal Munir The walk was attended by Dr. Jawad Elahi Medical Superintendent Isfandyar Bukhari Hospital, Members of the District Bar, Teachers, Students, Civil Society representatives, DSP Traffic, SHO City Attock, and the media. The walk started from the DPO office and culminated at Kchari Choke. The purpose of the walk was to create awareness about the slogans of the Punjab government, “Put the kite, burn the string, save everyone from the bloody game” and “Reject drug addiction, love life”.
DPO Attock has installed and distributed safety wires on the motorcycles of the citizens to avoid ropes.
According to the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab and IG Punjab Police, under the leadership of District Police Officer Dr. Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan, an awareness walk was organized against kite hawkers, kite sellers, and drug dealers. Addressing which DPO said that many precious human lives had been lost due to the murderous string.
During the walk, people were informed about the life-threatening risks posed by the dangerous activity of kite flying. Participants reiterated their commitment to cease kite making and flying through all possible means. To prevent kite flying, especially parents have to play an important role so that the future of their children is not destroyed. Police are using all resources to stop the heinous crime like drug peddling and to arrest the elements involved in the nefarious trade and will rid the land of Attock of drug peddlers he added.
They expressed their determination to avoid engaging in this hazardous activity and pledged to abide by the law by refraining from kite flying.
In their message, participants emphasized that no sport should take precedence over human life. Kite flying is considered a criminal offense, and every citizen must respect the law and refrain from engaging in it.
