Rahmatullah Buriro
Yesterday, the President of Pakistan addressed a national event and said that the country has to be made economically strong. We have to work together for national security, stability, development and prosperity. There is a strong need for an effective strategy with national consensus. The first population policy was implemented in Pakistan in 1950. Which gave better results than the countries of the world. It has been seven decades. From 1950 to 1959, from 1960 to 1969, from 1970 to 1979, from 1980 to 1989, from 1990 to 1999, from 2000 to 2009, from 2010 to the present, there are programs for population control. In 2010, after the 18th Amendment, related powers were transferred to the provinces and there, the population control program family planning is being run by the Population Welfare Department at the provincial level. Within these seven decades, the budget of billions of rupees has apparently been spent and it will continue to be so. But instead of showing significant results, it is the opposite, because when we look at the rate of funding every year based on the study. The population is growing out of control. In this regard, when the population of each province was evaluated, the figures for the 2023 census after 2017 have come out as follows. According to the 2021 census, the population of Punjab consists of 2.77 million people, which is more than 2.44 percent. Currently, the population of Punjab is at the highest rank in Pakistan, which also stands at 127,688,922. The area of Punjab is also 622/Km2. Sindh province According to the statistics of 2023, Sindh has a population of 55,696,147. The land area is 140,914 square kilometers. Between 2017 and 2023, the population growth rate is 2.6 percent. The population of Sindh is mostly Muslim at 93.32%, while the non-Muslim population in which the majority belongs to the Hindu religion stands at 6.51%. However, at the time of partition, the citizens belonging to the Hindu religion migrated to India. Karachi West district is the most populous district in Sindh with a population of 39 million. After that, there is Karachi Central District, which also has a population of 2.97 million people. While Tando Muhammad Khan district is a small district with a population of 0.44 million. The population growth rate in Sindh is 2.41 percent. Balochistan According to the statistics of 2023, there is a population of 14,894,190 one crore forty-eight thousand ninety thousand one hundred and ninety people. While the land area is 347,190 square kilometers of population. According to this calculation, the population is 42.9 km2 and the annual population growth rate is also 3.2 percent. Baluchistan province is famous for its coastline. The coastline of the world is extremely deep and low-level. It can be called a deep sea port. A port like Gwadar is not less than a blessing because it is located in the Arabian Sea. This is the only province of Pakistan. It is the largest province in terms of area. But 5 percent of its land is suitable for agriculture. Despite this, agriculture and livestock or livestock have a share of 44 percent in the provincial economy. The majority of Baloch people in Balochistan are Sunni Muslims, of which 64.78 per cent belong to Deobandi Maslik. While 33.38 per cent belong to Bareli Maslik and 1.25 per cent belong to Ahle Hadith while 0.59 per cent belong to Shia Muslims. North-West of KPK including FATA 2023 has a population of 40,856,097 people and an area of 101,741 square kilometers. The annual population growth is 2.4. In this way, the total population of Pakistan is 241.5 million people. According to the population statistics of 2023, it is the second largest number among the Muslim countries in the world. This Muslim country of South Asia, Pakistan, according to the statistics of 2024, the population of Pakistan is 245,209,815. According to the data of sample 2023, the growing population in 2024 has increased by 1.69 percent compared to 2023. Because according to the data of 2022, our population is also 235,824,862. Pakistan is considered to be the fastest growing country in the world. Pakistan is the fourth most polluted country in the world. The average age of Pakistani residents has decreased by 3.9 years. This proves that the World Health Organization WHO 5MG/M3 guidelines are not being followed. According to the statistics of 2023, the population of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir was also 241,492,917. In this sense, the population of Pakistan is 2.99% of the total population of the world. Islam is the largest and state religion of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. There are more than 240 million followers of Islam in Pakistan. 90% of them follow the Sunni Muslim religion. Pakistan’s population rate is increasing rapidly. For example, many factors emerged such as birth rate, limited access to family planning services, cultural norms, religious beliefs. According to the figures given by the United Nations, Pakistan’s population is expected to reach 403 million by 2050. If the current growth rate is not taken into account, the rapidly increasing population rate in Pakistan may cause many problems. When looking at the literacy rate of adults in Pakistan, a shocking report came out that according to the statistics of 2019, 58.00% can read and write with understanding a short simple statement. The rate has also increased by 0.99 from 2018. A country like Pakistan may be in some world where nature has abundant blessings, resources and the best kind of weather. The world’s most powerful and economically successful countries and their leaders are looking for ways to develop their country in our resources. But it is a pity that our national leaders and the bureaucracy do not know that this is unfortunate. Leaders who are in charge of world affairs and the national problems of nations have programs and goals. It will not be wrong to call it national pain. But in these seven decades, sometimes emotional bases were seen somewhere, but it is not seen now that it has been several decades. Currently, the country is going through a major economic crisis due to lack of resources and is moving towards the auction and privatization of important state institutions. Which is no less than a national tragedy. At the beginning of the article, the President of Pakistan started the conversation by presenting the statement that the country will have to face tough challenges. The main point that we are making here today is that the rapid growth of population and lack of resources are also the major problems of today. The main point that we are making here today is that the rapid growth of population and lack of resources are also the major problems of today. The big tragedy of Pakistan is not that the country and institutions are not reformed, the question is that our national, political and administrative leadership has the wisdom to find solutions to national or state problems. After a thorough study, when one thinks about national issues and the alienation of state institutions, it is understood that every future ruler of ours is the secret of his selfishness and greed for power. Even those with little sense do not understand anything except their incompetence and hunger for power. At present, Pakistan is under the grip of a national crisis due to the growing storm of population and lack of resources and misuse. Because of this, the International Financial Institution or the IMF is laying a conspiracy to weaken the state by emphasizing its unfair conditions and the privatization of national institutions. The IMF’s bad and bad conditions work as if they were food to get the country out of crisis. In today’s country conditions, it is necessary that there are institutions, support, budget and employees for the country population control program, but the work that needs to be done is not done. It is necessary that our national leadership and ruling circles and institutional heads have to play a role as a national, state and institutional role. Pakistan is not the only one in these situations, there are many other developing countries in the world. Nations are faced with crises, truthful and responsible leaderships also have their problems. That’s why we say to the IMF officials in the current situation that in whatever funding or loan you give, the fund or loan should have a target and a solution to the problems in front of it. The IMF’s intention is to get Pakistan out of the crisis instead of more confusion. Until Pakistan controls the population control program, better use of resources will not begin, then these talks of economic stability are like a dream of a madman. Therefore, the solution to our country’s situation is with proper population control, now that there is no resistance to the population control program like the resistance to the polio program. At this time, the talks between the ruling party and the IMF team were not fully revealed to the nation. The discussions after the review of the IMF Executive Board will be the last and it is possible that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will say that coordination between the provinces and the federation is necessary after the meeting of the Apex Committee. Addressing the national event, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari said that there is a need for better communication between the federation and the provinces. It is very dangerous and no less dangerous!! That’s why, realizing the need here, the leaders of the political and national governments put in front of the leadership that you will play a role in the current crisis of national and state institutions based on political wisdom and by demonstrating national unity. will be better.
