Islamabad,/MIRPUR ( AJK) (Parliament Times) : Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said on Friday that March 23, 1940 marks an important milestone in the history of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir.
“On this historic day the Muslims of the subcontinent decided to unitedly demand a separate homeland for themselves where they can live their lives according to the Islamic values and traditions, peace, dignity and honour”, the AJK President said in his message released on the eve of Pakistan day.March 23rd, he said, marked a crucial milestone in the quest for independence from both Hindu and British rule.
Highlighting the pivotal role played by Pakistan’s ancestors in laying the foundation of the nation on this historic day, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said, “On this auspicious day we pay tribute to the supreme sacrifices and struggle of the founders of Pakistan movement and reiterate our commitment to remain stick to their ideals and ideology”.
Congratulating the people of Pakistan, the AJK president said, “While celebrating the historic day, let us be united in faith and resolve, let us reinforce our commitment and rededicate ourselves to make Pakistan strong and prosperous.
“He said that a strong and stable Pakistan was the guarantor of the Kashmir’s freedom. Kashmiris, he said, consider Pakistan as a holy land.Despite facing the brunt of Indian brutality, the Kashmiri youths express their commitment to Pakistan by raising slogans of Pakistan Zindabad in the Indian occupied territory.
