Rawalpindi, ( Parliament Times) : Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak has directed that all the necessary formalities be completed for the two important projects i.e Jikka Gali Chowk remodeling and construction and widening of Khachri Chowk. He said that these projects will be reflected in the next ADP and will be started immediately after that. He said that all the work should be completed by the next week so that work can be started on it without any delay. Engineer Aamir Khattak directed the concerned Deputy Commissioners to take the local people and stakeholders on board and apprise them of the positive impact of these projects. He said that traffic management during the construction of Khachri Chowk remodeling is the biggest challenge for which special planning should be done. Apart from this, a deadline of two weeks should be given for the removal of billboards.
While giving a brief on the projects on this occasion, it was said that during the remodeling of Jika Gulli Chowk, additional slip lines towards Barrier Roads, additional slip lines towards Kohala Bridge Road, and widening of Jika Gulli Chowk will be done for which 9.65 kanals of land will be acquired. The estimated cost of the project is 860.108 million which will include road construction, land acquisition, and cost of buildings. Similarly, road work for Khachri Chowk, pedestrian underpasses, removal of structures, drainage and erosion work, land acquisition, shifting of services, traffic signals, contingency, consultancy, PRA, and horticulture will be included. 1683.813 million has been estimated for the project. The commissioner directed that all steps should be taken to start these development projects as soon as possible so that they can be completed within the stipulated period to provide convenience to the public.
