Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) welcomed the 18th batch of MBBS and 14th batch of BDS students in 2 separate orientation ceremonies. The new students of the 2024 session were warmly welcomed by the college administration, faculty members, and the members of higher management. Interactive sessions and engaging activities were conducted for the new students throughout the day.

Chairman IMDC Dr. Ghulam Akbar Khan Niazi, CEO Yasir Khan Niazi, Principal Prof. Dr. Syed Irfan Ahmed, Principal Dental Section Prof. Dr. Haroon Shahid Qazi and Project Director Dr. Khurshid Ahmad attended the orientation. The Chairman and principals gave welcome remarks to the new students. The Chairman stated that IMDC is one of the best colleges in the country because of its commitment to providing its students with the highest standards of education, mentorship, and resources to shape their future success in the field of medicine and dentistry.

Yasir Khan Niazi motivated the new students by stating, “This is the start of a new chapter in your life. While you embark on this journey, you must take responsibility for your future and work hard to become an integral part of society.” He informed students that IMDC is incorporating AI based learning into its system to keep producing high quality doctors.

The orientation also provided a platform for students to connect with their peers. New students expressed delight and excitement upon being part of IMDC. They also enjoyed the activities and welcome stalls conducted by IMDC student societies.

Imran Ali Ghouri, Head of IMDC Communication, told the media that IMDC, as a leading medical institution, recognizes the importance of fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment and, therefore, the college’s faculty and staff are dedicated to guiding and supporting its students every step of the way.

As the orientation sessions concluded, the newcomers left with a sense of determination, ready to embrace both the challenges and the opportunities.
