MIRPUR ( AJK),  (Parliament Times) : “There is no substitute of mother tongues across the globe, the true reflection of love and affection, as currently over 6 thousand of mother languages are spoken the world over”, experts revealed

Experts of languages representing various classes of the society expressed these views at a reception hosted in honour of renowned visiting Kashmir-origin Pahari language German Poetes, writer and scholar Ms. Komal Raja at a reception hosted by Dr. Amjad Ansari, renowned Kashmiri poet, intellectual and historian at the Srinagar House here to mark the International Mother Language Day that was observed the world over on Wednesday.

Speakers including the Chief Guest Komal Raja, Dr. Amjad Ansari, Syed Shabir Shah, Dr. Mohsin Shakeel, Prof. Waris Jiraal, Prof. Qazi Zubair Ahmed, Prof. Khawaja Khusheed , senior Kashmiri journalist and anslyst Altaf Hamid Rao, and others emphasised for the inclusion of mother languages in syllabus because of the exceptional significance of the mother languages. They lauded reported AJK govt move for compiling the curriculum containing regional and mother tongues.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir authirities must play an active role for keeping intact and promotion of all the regional mother tongues including Pahari, Kashmiri, Gojri languages besides over 30 of other regional languages of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

It may be added that the chief guest Komal Raja originally from Hajira, Poonch AJK is a Ravian post graduate comprising M.Phil in Psychology. Currently she is doing PhD scholar in Social and Cultural Anthropology at Ludwig Maximillians University of Munich.

Both institutes from where Allama Iqbal got his degrees in Philosophy.

She writes prose and poetry including prose in Urdu and poetry in Pahari that published in different magazines from Pakistan, Srinagar, Azad Jammu Kashmir and London.

Her research work is about “Negotiating Autonomy in Azad Kashmir: The politicisation of identity and everyday life.”

Her curre research work is focussed on “Negotiating Autonomy in Azad Kashmir: The politicisation of identity and everyday life.”

” I have huge interest in Philosophy and I am an avid reader of the world literature and philosophy both western and eastern”, Komal said in her local language address to the ceremony.
