Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : Scholars College Excels in Academic and Healthy Activities. The Scholars Sports Gala 2024 was held with great enthusiasm, featuring extensive participation of both male and female students in various sports activities, at the Narul Stadium. Under the supervision of Scholars College of Sciences and Information Technology Muzaffarabad, the four-day Scholars Sports Gala concluded with thrilling finals, showcasing competitions in cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, ludo, rope skipping, and relay races. Students exhibited remarkable representation of their respective fields and showed their sporting skills. The closing ceremony of the Sports Gala was graced by the Chairman of Scholars College, Mr. Syed Iftikhar Kazmi, while the guests included President APSCA Mr. Syed Ishtiaq Bukhari, President APSCA Capital Mr. Wajahat Ashraf Awan, Mr. Syed Imtiaz Naqvi, along with Managing Directors of various city departments. The educational department teams, including “Education Hawks” from the Education Department, “CS Warriors” from the CS Department, and “English Gladiators” from the English Department, along with Intermediate Hustlers’ teams, participated in the four-day Sports Gala. The CS defensive champion maintained their championship title in cricket, while Education Hawks remained runners-up. The Education Hawks Girls Cricket Team retained the cricket final trophy, while the English Gladiators secured the runner-up position. The volleyball trophy was claimed by Inter Star, while CS emerged victorious in the thrilling football match. In the Ludo Girls Team, Ad’s student Ifrah Batool clinched the trophy, while in the Badminton Boys, Ad’s student Hasan secured the trophy. The sportsmanship displayed by all participants and the sporting spirit of the winners were highly praised. The English Gladiators’ team was awarded the Best Sportsmanship award for their outstanding sportsmanship displayed throughout the event. Players and winning teams expressed their gratitude, acknowledging the efforts of the Chairman Scholars Foundation Mr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain Kazmi for organizing such an excellent sports event. Principal Ms. Samia Sadiq, Raja Abdul Qadir (Coordinator BS Program), Mr. Syed Naweed Hussain (Vice Principal), Mrs. Syeda Aisha (Assistant Coordinator BS Program), Basit Ali Raja (Coordinator English Department), Taiba Kanwal (Coordinator Education Department), Syed Faizan Gardazi (Coordinator CS Department), Syeda Nasib Hussain, Um e Habiba, Asma, Zabaria Tariq, along with all faculty members, deserved congratulations for their commendable efforts. Each one contributed their best, while the supporting staff, including Syed Danish Naqvi, Syed Baqar Ali, and Ahsan Ayoob, played their roles efficiently. Addressing the concluding ceremony, Principal Ms. Samia Sadiq emphasized that every student in the institution is like a family member, and students, especially girls, are provided ample opportunities for sports activities based on merit so that they can play an equal role in society and bring glory to their parents and institution. During the ceremony, President APSCA Mr. Syed Ishtiaq Bukhari emphasized the importance of sports activities for students, stating that sports activities alleviate the pressure of academic activities on students, which has a positive impact on their personalities. He mentioned that Scholars College has always been at the forefront of providing abundant sports opportunities to its students, which is highly commendable. Chairman Scholars College Mr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain Kazmi congratulated all participating students for presenting the best sports and encouraged them to maintain the sporting spirit. He further advised all educational institutions to prioritize sports activities in their institutions so that the youth can adopt the best sporting activities. At the end of the ceremony, players who achieved prominent positions in sports activities were awarded honorary certificates and trophies.
