Islamabad  (Parliament Times): In response to the recent article published by the Ukrainian Ambassador, Mr. Markiian Chuchuk, in “The Express Tribune” entitled “POW Exchange: Just the Beginning of the Long Way to Peace,” the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Albert Khorev, addresses the groundless accusations made against Russia.

Firstly, Ambassador Khorev disputes the claim that Moscow is hindering the prisoner-of-war exchange. He emphasizes that this statement lacks factual support, and Russia is diligently working to repatriate its servicemen, with successful exchanges facilitated by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye.

Secondly, Ambassador Khorev challenges the accusation of Russia deporting Ukrainian children, categorizing it as a cornerstone of a Western information campaign. He provides evidence of millions of Ukrainian refugees seeking safety in Russia, including hundreds of thousands of children, refuting the notion of forced deportations. Moscow remains committed to ensuring the well-being of evacuated children, emphasizing their return if parents desire.

Furthermore, Ambassador Khorev addresses the repetition of the hackneyed thesis in Western propaganda that Russia is not taking sincere steps towards peace. He highlights Russia’s consistent readiness to negotiate without preconditions and criticizes Ukraine’s legal prohibition of negotiations with the President of Russia. The Kyiv regime’s unrealistic demands for troop withdrawal from various regions remain a stumbling block to diplomatic progress.

The press release also raises questions about the true will of the Ukrainian people, referencing a December 2023 Facebook poll conducted by Mariana Bezugla, indicating a willingness among Ukrainian men to renounce citizenship to avoid mobilization. Insights from David Arahamiya, head of the ruling party faction, suggest a reluctance to compromise on the Ukrainian side, even when faced with potential paths to neutrality.

The Russian Embassy in Pakistan reaffirms Russia’s commitment to sincere negotiations for peace, questioning the authenticity of Zelensky’s proposed “Peace Formula.” Ambassador Khorev urges a careful examination of the facts, emphasizing Russia’s unwavering dedication to resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.
