A comprehensive reform agenda is needed in almost all the sectors of Pakistan. In order to tackle with the situation, radical changes are required. For this a strenuous effort must be launched to overhaul the whole system. A strong political will is essential to bring the changes. The most important thing is to have enough courage to look into one’s own faults and then make a solemn effort to rectify them. Drastic and revolutionary changes in the education system are needed. Poverty alleviation and women empowerment may solve the problem to a great extent. Many vices are the result of ignorance and illiteracy. Unfortunately, our literacy rate is very low as compared to other Asian countries. The authorities must strive to attain the 100 percent literacy in Pakistan and try to come up with a homogeneous educational system. A centralized body should be established which must monitor all the functions of educational system with a due assurance of accountability. The media should spend quality time on spreading education and should not harbour on provoking the masses by character assassination of the political leaders only. If the changes produce no result then what is the purpose of the change. Hence the assurance ought to be brought home that the changes introduced by the relevant departments have to be result oriented and introduced without any delay.Great many changes in the policies of the governance are needed. Because this is high time that we must introduce the basic reforms in the system of governance and advocate the self reliance that we awfully need. The smooth functioning of all the departments must be made sure and for this purpose meritocracy must be the hallmark of all the federal and provincial departments. It is the duty of the government to provide the common man with the basic commodities of life as housing, medical and food facilities. What is essential is equality and justice. Foreign influences must be shed aside. Also the efforts must be made to get rid of fundamentalism.The administration has to come forward with a new determination with this promise that the Pakistani nation will survive as an independent and honoured nation. And course of events have indeed revealed that Pakistani nation is a resilient nation with the courage to face all the challenges of life. We have to look for new avenues of thought, look for new dimensions with an invigorating planning and activity. We will have to depend on our own resources. But for this we ought to shed away the dependence on west. This will stabilize our country and make us economically strong. We need the change in the following areas. Provide institutional support. There is a need to set realistic objectives. Attain better economic growth. Empower women. Provide better access to water and sanitation facilities. Combat poverty. Provide access to primary education. Strive for better governance. Keep national interest above the individual interest. The disparities between the rich and the poor segment of society are getting more evident. According to a World Bank report, ‘’ As of 2023 poverty is expected to reach 37.2 percent ($3.65/ day)’’. There is unequal distribution of resources. The system must be devised in such a manner that all the needs of all the strata of society are catered to. This will create a situation for improvising the socio economic situation. The youth has to come forward. A great responsibility lies on its shoulders to bring out all the reforms. Now is the time to wake up from deep slumber and take part in national reconstruction for bettering the future of us all.
