Rawalakot, (Parliament Times) : In the year 2023, 1592 suspects were arrested in various crimes, 65 kg of 44 grams of hashish, 1 kg and 240 grams of heroin, 447 bottles of liquor, 52 pistols and 325 fugitives were arrested.
In the year 2023, 11 murders, 13 robberies, 65 common robberies were reported. 14 stolen motorcycles and 5 vehicles were recovered. 2 Crore 13 Lakh stolen goods were recovered and handed over to the citizens. 221 accused were punished by the courts. In various cases, 7 accused were given death sentence, 4 accused were given life imprisonment, 2 accused were sentenced to 10 years. 2 police officers were dismissed from service while 1 was sentenced to forced retirement.
SSP Rawalakot Khawar Ali Shaukat said in a press release that a total of 1098 cases were registered in 2023. Serious crimes include 11 cases of murder, 13 cases of robbery by force, 9 cases of adultery, 35 rape and 65 cases of common theft.

In a press release, SSP Rawalakot said that 121 cases were reported in the Anti-Women Harassment Cell and Cybercrime, on which the accused were arrested. In the year 2023, 221 accused were sentenced by different courts. In 4 cases of murder, 5 accused were sentenced to death while 1 accused was sentenced to life imprisonment. 14 years imprisonment for 2 accused in 1 case of robbery, 14 years imprisonment in 2 cases of robbery by coercion, death sentence to 2 accused in 1 case of forced adultery, 10 years imprisonment in 2 cases of 337(A1), 1 life in 1 drug case. Imprisonment, 10 years in 1 case, 4 years in 1 case. 29 thousand 882 tickets were issued for violations of traffic rules. 860 vehicles were seized for serious violations. In 2023, 60 traffic accidents took place in which 15 were fatal and 45 were non-fatal, 16 people died while 102 people were injured.
