Azerbaijan under the dynamic leadership of President Ilham Aliyev has achieved numerous milestones towards the national development, liberation of occupied territories and national integration during the last two decades. In an historic event on October 15, 2023, President Ilham Aliyev raised the national flag of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi. The Khankendi city in Nagorno Karabakh remained under illegal occupation for decades prior to the September 2023 victory by the valiant soldiers of Azerbaijan under the command of President Ilham Aliyev. After raising the national flag of Azerbaijan in Khankendi, President Ilham Aliyev in his speech said that every day, we were bringing this cherished moment closer and repeatedly saying that each of us should try to bring this day closer with our hard work.
The incumbent President of Azerbaijan has gained popularity among the masses because of his courageous stance on Karabakh issue and his leading role in the liberation of cities and towns from the illegal and forcible occupation of Armenia. President Ilham Aliyev has become symbol of victory and a role model for the people who have resisted the foreign aggression and occupation. In his capacity as the head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in recent years, President Ilham Aliyev has made the international organization more active and powerful. Azerbaijan is also heading the South Caucasus region under the visionary leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The country is far ahead from other countries of the region and other continents in different spheres of life. President Ilham Aliyev is following the foot prints of his great father and founder of the modern Azerbaijan late Heydar Aliyev. It is worth to mention that Azerbaijan is passing through a rapid growth along with political and social development. President Ilham Aliyev is playing an important role in shaping the new relations with other countries across the globe. After assuming power in 2003 after the death of his father Heydar Aliyev, he has proven his abilities and capabilities to take his country to new heights at the international level.
The vision of President Ilham Aliyev can be judged by his speech he delivered in Khankendi on 15th October, 2023. He rightly said that over the years, we have created a strong political and legal foundation for resolving the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict. The President made it clear that at the same time, we have created a strong economy, and the successes achieved in this direction over the past 20 years are obvious. On this occasion President Ilham Aliyev said twenty years ago, I set myself a top priority task of raising the Azerbaijani flag in all our territories that were occupied at the time. After raising the national flag of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, President has proudly said that we have raised such a young generation that was ready to die for the motherland, for our lands and they were confronting death. President Ilham Aliyev has proved his abilities as a leader of his country by taking bold and decisive steps to liberate Karabakh from occupation.
The established fact cannot be undermined by the hostile enemies of Azerbaijan that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev it can confront any challenge and external threat after liberating the Karabakh from Armenian occupation.
