New York, (Parliament Times) : Kashmir Global Council supported and expressed solidarity with the people of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in their protest movement for the compensation of their resources and their real demands.
First right of the Kashmiri people to all the natural resources of Jammu and Kashmir. The government of Pakistan should respect international agreements and laws and give basic rights to Kashmiris.
Following the United Nations resolutions and the laws regarding such disputed areas, basic resources including food, and electricity should be given to the people on a priority basis according to the public aspirations.
Kashmir Global Council believes that the demands of the people of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are completely legitimate and fulfilling them is the responsibility of the government of Pakistan and Pakistan is also a signatory to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR).
President of the Kashmir Global Council added that the ICCPR would have clarified this that all peoples, for their own purposes, freely use their natural wealth and resources, on the basis of the principle of mutual benefit and international law, without prejudice to any obligations arising from international economic cooperation.
