Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times): A meeting of the Board of Governors of Divisional Public School and College Rawalpindi was held in DPS under the chairmanship of the Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Liaqat Ali Chatha. The annual budget of Divisional Public School and College Rawalpindi was approved in the meeting. Principal DPS&C, Prof. Muhammad Yaseen Mirza presented the budget of the school and recommended an increase in the salaries of the staff in view of increased inflation. BoG approved the proposed budget as well as the salary raise. In the meeting, the construction of the first floor of the Boys’ College building was also approved. The Board of Governors approved the introduction of technical education along with traditional education in DPS. Every DPS student will learn a skill of its own choice in addition to its matric and FSc education. Commissioner Rawalpindi, Liaqat Ali Chatha, addressing the meeting, said that there is an urgent need of the time to prepare trained individuals equipped with technical education so that the youth can take up their own responsibilities and instead of putting the entire burden of expenses on their parents in the future, they should support their families. Technical education is very important for self-reliance. Technical education program was started this year during summer vacations, in which very encouraging responses from students and parents were noticed.
He said that steps have been taken to provide healthy environment to the students through extracurricular activities in DPS. Commissioner Rawalpindi also issued instructions to prepare a strategy for teaching international languages in the school. Additional Commissioner Coordination Syed Nizarat Ali, DG RDA Saif Anwar Jappa, Members Board of Governors Chairman Rawalpindi Board Muhammad Adnan Khan, Maj. (R) Zia ul Haq, Deputy Secretary Finance (R) Mukhtar Ali Malik and President Anjuman Tajran Malik Shahid Ghafoor Pracha were present in the meeting.
