University is the platform where youth can make their future. It means that the future belongs to the education of a university. Regrettably, the youth of Ghotki are deprived of this platform. It is the 2nd largest tax-paying district of Sindh after Karachi and contains many national and multinational companies. Everyone will be shocked to read this statistics report that FFC, a multinational company located in Mirpur Mathelo, announced the results of its financial results for six months that ended on June 30, 2023. FFC just paid the tax of Rs. 20.76 billion, up 35 percent of its total income. On the other hand, another multinatinal company Engro Daharki announced its financial results for 3 months, which ended on March 2023. On a consolidated basis, Engro corporation’s revenue grew by 10% to PKR 97.3 bn in Q1 2023 from PKR 88.3 bn in Q1 of 2022. The company also posted a PAT of PKR 8.8 bn in Q1 2023. As a consequence, these both were statistics reports of just two companies whereas many other national and multinational companies are not mentioned above.

In addition to this, according to the 2017 census, the population of Ghotki is more than 16 lacs having a 3 lacs population of between 19-30. Furthermore, In 2017, HEC established the campus of a public sector university with just three departments. Now, the question arises here How a massive amount of young people can be accommodated in public sector university campuses? Whereas, the whole world is moving towards technology. Moreover, resistance against injustice has been alleviated overnight and will return with the establishment of the university. Because the university is the name of awareness that awakes the sleepy masses of society.

Recently in June, presenting the 2023-24  annual budget provincial government announced the establishment of the university in Larkana and Jacobabad. Similarly, the Federal government also in its annual budget announced the establishment of 25 universities in Punjab. Unfortunately, neither the provincial nor federal government considered the industrial zone district, Ghotki. In this case, If the role of the feudals is considered on this burning issue then it seems as if they are afraid of being educated by society around them which is the reason for their silence in this campaign.

In conclusion, It is the collective responsibility of the whole society including elected leaders to raise their voices along with educated youngsters, and civil individuals on this matter, “Ghotki needs university.”
