Washington.: Kashmiri residents in the United States will hold a strong protest demonstration on September 22 against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the New York General Assembly. This decision was announced during a reception ceremony held here, which honored the senior leader of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League-N and former member of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Council, Sardar Abdul Khalique Wasi. The event was attended by other dignitaries including Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman of the World Forum for Peace and Justice, and the honrary advisor to President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Zarif Khan, Sardar Zabir Khan, Sardar Aftab Khan, and other members of the Kashmiri community.

Addressing the gathering, Sardar Abdul Khalique Wasi stated that Kashmiris settled in USA specially in
New York and Washington, will participate in a comprehensive protest on this day, and not only Kashmiris themselves but also their children studying in colleges and universities will join in. He emphasized that while the Pakistani government will continue its diplomatic support for the Kashmir cause, Kashmiris should also maintain their efforts for self-determination at all levels. He expressed that the sacrifices made by our elders and young generation in this struggle for self-determination will not go in vain under any circumstances. He further stated that the people of Pakistan have always stood by the Kashmiris in this endeavor, and other countries of the world should take note of the atrocities committed by India against the Kashmiris.

Sardar Abdul Khalique Wasi emphasized that Kashmiris, regardless of their political affiliation or ideology, will not accept any solution for Kashmir other than the right to self-determination. He praised the efforts of the Kashmiri diaspora and congratulated them on their endeavors. Prior to this, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Sardar Zarif Khan, and other representatives congratulated Sardar Abdul Khalique Wasi on his visit to the United States and commended his efforts to mobilize the Kashmiri community. Representatives including Sardar Shkeel Anjum, Mazhar Kiyani, and Sardar Aftab Roshan also spoke, highlighting their efforts for development and progress in Sardar Abdul Khalique Wasi’s electoral constituency.

Sardar Aftab Khan of west Pachiot and Sardar Tariq Khan of Jandala also organized a reception ceremony in honor of Sardar Abdul Khalique Wasi prior to this, where Prof Saeed Khalil, Sardar Javaid Shafee and Sardar Jahanzeb Khan also delivered speeches.

On the occasion of Sardar Abdul Khalique Wasi’s visit to the United States, the Kashmiri community displayed their enthusiastic welcome and organized events in New Jersey, Brooklyn, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and other places to celebrate his honor and achievements.”
