FAISALABAD ( Parliament Times): The Collectorate Custom performing brilliantly in a short span of 6 months
in spite of limited resources and lesser personnel, recovered red handed smuggled goods worth 301 million.
Mohammad Ismail Collector Customs and Additional Collector Dr. Tahir Khattak told that, viewing the reliable mobile information was received at Faisalabad Airport by Collector Customs Enforcement Sargodha. The Collector alerted the airport staff and specially deployed immediately the Faisalabad Anti-Smuggling Squad at the airport. He personally supervised the operation, which successfully led to the recovery of high value mobile phones and many other electronics items.
The details of smuggled items are as follows: iPhone Various (785), 2- Samsung (120) 3- OnePlus (15) 4- iPad (78) 5- Drone Battery (10) 6- The total value of the confiscated goods, estimated by the appraising officer to be Rs 163 million including laptops, play stations and drones (14).
This speedy action failed thee attempts. As a result, mobiles worth Rs 138 million and prohibited drugs worth Rs 20 million have also been seized by Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Sargodha, mobiles and electronics worth Rs 301 million from Faisalabad International Airport were also taken in custody.
Remember that, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Sargodha is a newly established Collectorate comprising of three Civil Divisions of Sargodha, Faisalabad and DG Khan.
According to the sources, 2.2 billion rupees have been earned in the last 06 months.
Further, an amount of Rs 475 million has been recovered from auction and adjudication. The Collectorate of Customs Sargodha’s exceptional services were appreciated.
So under the given circumstances with limited human and material resources compared to the wide jurisdiction of the Collectorate.
Collector said that active & quick services with accurate planing can nip the evils & evil-doers.
