Srinagar: The sleuths of India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA ) and Special Investigation of Unit of Police raided several houses in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The NIA teams along with Indian paramilitary and police personnel on Tuesday carried out search operations in South Kashmir’s Shopian and Pulwama districts. During house raids, the forces seized house and bank documents, literature and several digital devices of the residents.

The raids were conducted at the houses of sympathizers and cadres as well as Over Ground Workers (OGWs), the police claimed.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Unit of Police today carried out raids at the houses of four freedom activists in Kishtwar district.

The case against the four persons is registered under black law UAPA. SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmad Poswal was quoted as having said that the raids were carried out at Mughal Maiden, Chatroo and Singhpora areas.

Notably, the special NIA court in Jammu had on April 26 issued non-bailable warrants against 23 Hurriyat activists from Kishtwar. Earlier, non-bailable warrants were issued against 13 other activists in the district.
