ZHOB (Parliament Times): Four security officials including a police SHO were martyred following a pre-dawn attack on FC and police check posts in the hilly Dhana Sar area on Zhob-D.I Khan national highway N-50 here on Sunday night.

Officials at the district administration Sherani have confirmed the death and said that the gun battle between the security personnel and the terrorists continued for almost two hours. One attacker has also been killed while two others injured in the retaliatory firing with the forces. The attackers fled the crime scene taking the advantage of darkness with their wounded accomplices. A search operation was launched in the area following the incident cordoning off the highway and adjacent areas.

Station House Officer Dhana Sar police sub-inspector Bahadur Khan Babar, constables Baz Khan Hariphal and Muhammad Afzal Sherani are among the martyred officials. Similarly, the martyred FC official has been identified as Sanaullah, while Havaldar Muhammad Hussain got injured as a result of the attack. According to District Health Officer Zhob Dr Muzaffar Shah, a state of an emergency has been imposed at the District Headquarters civil hospital.Following the incident, local people and relatives of the deceased blocked the highway and started protest against the incident and said that their protest will be continued until the government traces the attackers and brings them to justice.Meanwhile, political parties of Zhob also staged a protest demonstration to condemn the incident. They have demanded of the concerned authorities to take some practical steps to prevent such incidents.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Qudus Bizenjo has condemned the attack, saying terrorists couldn’t demoralize security forces with such cowardly acts.

‘The security forces are ensuring the security of the homeland and the nation with firm determination and courage,’ a press release stated. No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for the Dhan Sar check posts attack.
