Paris (France), (Parliament Times): A flag-hoisting ceremony was organized on the occasion of Pakistan Day at the Embassy of Pakistan in Paris. The ceremony was attended by the officials of the embassy as well as the Pakistani community living in France. The messages of the President and the Prime Minister were read out.
The Ambassador of Pakistan Mr. Asim Iftikhar Ahmed highlighted the importance of March 23, 1940 and said that on that day the Muslims of the subcontinent passed the resolution of Pakistan to get a separate homeland so that they could live according to their culture, values and beliefs.
He paid tribute to the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, who strongly led the freedom movement and achieved Pakistan through his political, constitutional and democratic struggle.
National songs were presented in the ceremony and speeches were made by the children.
