MIRPUR (AJK),  (Parliament Times) ; Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has said that his government won’t allow anyone, whosoever, to play with the interests of the state.

Addressing a function held ito mrk the International Women’s Day in the State metropolis on Wednesday, the PM regrettably noted that some people have virtually held the entire state and its system hostage.He, however, maintained that no one can escape law or flee justice.

“A few state employees have established offshore companies, all their evidence has been collected”, the PM said, adding that those found guilty would be held accountable.

“No one can be allowed to hijack the state”, the PM said, adding that the state was liberated by their forefathers after rendering matchless sacrifices.” We are not technocrats, our roots are in the people”, he said. He said that it was quite shocking that people pay a hefty amount to get the lucrative position in government departments.

“People pay 35 to 40 crore rupees for the post of Commissioner of Inland Revenue”, he said. Highlighting the women’s significant contribution to society, he said that the Kashmiri women on both sides of the LoC have rendered tremendous sacrifices.

” Our mothers, sisters and daughters in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been scripting a new history while fighting shoulder to shoulder alongside their men against the Indian occupation”, the PM said.

“I salute those brave and fearless mothers, sisters and daughters who have been facing India’s oppression and tyranny with the utmost courage and resilience”, he said, adding that no one can forget their story of sacrifice and significant contribution to the ongoing freedom movement.Referring to the place of women in Islamic society, he said that Islam has given a special place to women in society.

The Tehreek-e-Insaaf government, he said, was committed to empowering women in the state and addressing their problems. The government, he said, has fulfilled its duty by giving representation to women in the recent local elections in Azad Kashmir.The government, he said, was taking steps to improve the life of women by making them skilled.

“Our government launched a successful women’s program within Azad Kashmir, which provided educated women with the opportunity to enhance their skills and get respectable employment opportunities”, he said. ” Pink bus service has been launched to facilitate the travel of working women in the capital city”, he said, adding that 1650 women would benefit from the introduction of modern technical training institutes.

The women of Azad Kashmir , he said, were highly talented who have proved their metal in every field of life. The PM on the occasion said that all 196 women workers working in the Social Welfare Department should be made permanent immediately.

The prime minister also announced a grant of 25 lakh rupees for the welfare of women. He said that it was heartening to note that women in Azad Kashmir lived in a violence-free environment.

On this occasion, Senior Minister Khawaja Farooq Ahmed and Minister of Planning Chaudhry Rashid were also present.
