Lahore: Governor Punjab, Muhammad Balighur Rehman, while addressing a function organized by Punjab Information Department here today at Al Hamra Art Council Lahore said that the unparalleled sacrifices of Kashmiri people in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Insha Allah will bear fruit one day and they will be freed from the Indian illegal occupation.

He said that along with expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers and sisters today, we are also very saddened by the recent incident of terrorism in Peshawar. Governor Punjab said that February 5 is the most important day for us, not only we have emotional attachment to this day, but it is our duty to stand with the oppressed, stand with humanity and stand with the truth. Governor Punjab said that three times elected Prime Minister of the country Muhammad Nawaz Sharif raised his voice in favour of Kashmiris at every forum from 2013 to 2017.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rahman said that India has a long and painful history of oppression of Kashmiri people, which our Kashmiri brothers and sisters have been bearing with great courage and bravery for the last several decades. He said that unfortunately the United Nations and international human rights organizations have failed to implement the resolution passed by the United Nations Commission on India and Pakistan on January 5, 1949 for a free and fair referendum in Kashmir. The Governor of Punjab said that on August 5, 2019, the Modi government had taken a heinous step to deprive the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir of their right to self-determination by canceling Article 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution, Which was fully condemned by all the Muslim Ummah including Pakistan.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rahman said that the continuous indifference and criminal silence of the international organizations and the United Nations on the violation of the basic human rights of the oppressed Kashmiris is a question that every Kashmiri youth is asking for and will continue to ask for an answer to. He said that through continuous illegal and unilateral actions, the Indian government has created an atmosphere of fear and chaos in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the international community should take action against it. Governor Punjab said that India should know that no wall can stop the smell of freedom, freedom is the right of Kashmiris and, in sha Allah they will get freedom.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehmen said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had categorically said that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan. He said that Pakistan has always kept the issue of Kashmir at the top of diplomatic level negotiations and relations with India are conditioned by the Kashmir policy. Governor Punjab said that we as a nation assure the Kashmiri people that Pakistan is with the Kashmiri brothers and sisters at every level. He said that he was grateful to the people from all schools of thought, media, students and all the people who gathered here today to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers.

On this occasion, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rahman visited the exhibition of paintings related to Kashmir Solidarity Day and appreciated the performance of the artists. Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Information Punjab Ali Nawaz Malik, Commissioner Lahore Division Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Ali Muhammad, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nazia Mohal, Kashmiri leaders Parvez Ahmad Shah, Zahid Ashraf and others were present on this occasion. Later, Governor Punjab also led a rally regarding Kashmir Solidarity Day.
