ISLAMABAD (Parliament Times): The Satrang art gallery will organize an art exhibition titled ‘Under One Roof’ on February 3, 2023 (Friday) with an aim to support and promoting the artists and artisans of Pakistan. According to a statement issued by Ms Asma Rashid Khan, Founding Director Satrang Art Gallery, ‘Under One Roof’ is a very special exhibition at Satrang Gallery.
This exhibition Under One Roof, brings all these wonderful women who have been a part of our Satrang journey and we are very proud of them. They are going to showcase the art works of Aniqa Haider, Areej Nasir, Azanat Mansoor, Dhoufishan Raza, Emaan Pirzada, Faten Suleman, Komal Nadeem, Maham Masood, Mahnoor Asad, Mamoona Riaz, Noor Fatima, Schezre Syed, Shafaq Hamid, Sundas Azfer, Wajiha Batool, Zahra Jadoon, Jasmine Michael. These seventeen talented artists have all worked with us as assistant curators over the last decade. From the very beginning Satrang Gallery has initiated a unique curatorial traineeship program which it offers to two art graduates each year.
This year marks the 11th anniversary of Satrang Gallery located at the Serena Hotel, Islamabad. Founding Director, Asma Rashid Khan has showcased over 500 artists, and initiated a curatorial traineeship programme that has mentored 20 young curators over the decade. As trainees these young women learn important aspects of art beyond the studio. They develop curatorial practices and learn the practical day to day of running a gallery. As they are accomplished artists, we also encourage them to continue deepening their art practices.
We are thrilled that Satrang’s trainees have flourished in their careers and art practices. They are working as faculty at the prestigious National College of Art, curators at important institutions, art teachers at high schools, entrepreneurs and designers. Each of them is continuing to create outstanding art.
The exhibition would start at 4:30 p.m. and culminated at 7:00 p.m. This variety of unique art works of talented young artists will be displayed in the art gallery until 25 February 2023.
