Islamabad, (Parliament Times): For All Kashmir Newspaper Society (AKNS), various candidates including Senior Vice President Chaudhry Sherbaz Munir, Deputy Secretary General Mumtaz Ali Khaksar, Secretary Finance Javed Iqbal Chaudhry, Secretary Information Nisar Ahmed Kayani and the 5 members of the governing body including Ejaz Khan, Khalid Mahmood Chaudhry, Malik Amir, Khalid Anjum and Abid Abbasi were elected unopposed.
After checking the nomination papers, as per the notification issued by the Election Commission of AKNS, it has been said that the nomination papers of two candidates for the post of President, Chaudhry Amjad and Zaheer Jagwal, have been declared valid. For Senior Vice President apart from Sherbaz Munir Chaudhry, no one has submitted the papers thus Sherbaz Munir Chaudhry has been elected as Senior Vice President unopposed. The papers of three candidates Shafqat Zia, Tanveer Ahmad Tanuli and Naseer Anwar have been accepted for the two positions of the vice president, while the nomination papers of three candidates Zaheer Ahmed Jagwal, Raja Amjad Hussain and Younis Niazi for the secretary general have also been approved.
No one except Mumtaz Ali Khaksar has submitted papers for secretary general.Similarly no one has submitted papers for finance secretary and information secretary except Javed Iqbal Chaudhry and Nisar Kayani who were thus selected.
For the 5 positions of the governing body, only 5 candidates Ijaz Khan, Khalid Mahmood Chaudhry, Malik Amir, Khalid Anjum and Abid Abbasi have submitted their nomination papers. As a result all these five candidates of the governing body have also been elected unopposed. Meanwhile, polling for President, Vice President and Secretary General will be held on January 14.
