Muzaffarabad,  (Parliament Times) : Preparations have been started to observe 5th January as “Right to Self-Determination Day” at the national level to raise voice against Indian war crimes in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to determine the political future of the state.

While addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali and other leaders has said that India is making desperate efforts and conspiracies to remove the Kashmir issue from the United Nations forum by declaring it unimportant and obselete.

They said that in order to neutralize the Indian moves and to make the international community aware of the importance and sensitivity of the Jammu and Kashmir issue in the South Asian region, it has become the need of the hour to create a strong resistance movement against Indian illegal occupation.

While reiterating the appeal to the people of Muzaffarabad Division, Pasban-e-Hurriyat representatives said that every citizen should raise their voice in protest against Indian war crimes and demand of right to self-determination from the United Nations to determine the political future of the state on Thursday January 5, 2023.

They said that people will gather at Shaheed Burhan Wani Chowk at 10 o’clock to participate and record their protest on Indian atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

While considering the seriousness of the situation in view of the worst situation in Occupied Kashmir, this appeal will be conveyed to one lac people of the capital for a large anti-India public gathering and present it as a public referendum against the Indian military occupation.

Officials of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir government, all parliamentary parties including the opposition, political and religious parties, civil society members, lawyers, traders, including the youth of the division will participate in the event.

They also appealed the masses that the time when India is committing the worst war crimes against innocent civilians in the internationally disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir and turned the entire state into a prison with one million soldiers and aggressive use of inhuman black laws.

“After that, now their defense minister and military generals are openly threatening to attack Azad Kashmir, In such circumstances, the people of state should prepare themselves to resist against Indian colonial ambitions with full faith, strength and patriotism”, they added.
