Muzaffarabad,  (Parliament Times) : After the completion of the second phase of local body elections in Azad Kashmir, opposition parties decided on a strategy for political cooperation in the future. In this regard, an agreement has been reached between Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir, Pakistan Muslim League-N and Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party for the second phase of local body elections.

As per the agreement, Chairman District Council, Mayor Municipal Corporation, Municipal Committee ,and Baldia Town Committee will be elected from the majority party while deputy chairman and deputy mayor will be from second-ranked party of alliance respectively.

The meeting was attended by the top leadership of the three parties including Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, Opposition Leader Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Secretary General Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Pakistan Muslim League-N President Shah Ghulam Qadir, former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, General Secretary Muslim League-N Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, while Sardar Hassan Ibrahim of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party.
