Lahore: Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan visited Lakodir Kashmir Colony Lahore along with the members of the assembly elected from the refugee constituencies.

During his visit the Prime Minister while expressing his concern over the plight of refugee families living in the colony said that it was heartbreaking to see the plight of Kashmiri refugees. The previous governments, he said, did not focus on resettlement and increase in monthly subsistence allowance of the refugees.

While reiterating his government’s pledge to solve the problems faced by the migrant community the Prime Minister announced to build houses for the poorest 5 refugee families with his own expenses.

Regarding the settlement of homeless refugees, he said that for the resettlement of 300 refugee families a comprehensive strategy would be devised soon in consultation with the ministry of finance, ministers and legislators who contest elections on migrant seats.

Meanwhile, Legislative Assembly Azad Kashmir from LA 41 Kashmir Valley 2 Mr. Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan hosted dinner in honour of the AJK premier Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan here on Sunday. On the occasion Central Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, Minister Mahmood-ul-Rashid and other central leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf were also present. The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed on his arrival at the dinner ceremony. He was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Assembly Chaudhry Riaz Gujjar, Minister for Rehabilitation and SDMA Chaudhry Muhammad Akbar Ibrahim, Forest Minister Chaudhry Akmal Sargala and others.
