Quaid-e-Azam, the founder of Pakistan, once declared that “No nation can rise the height of glory unless your women are side by side with you” another statement he made, “No struggle can ever succeed without women participating side by side with men. There are two powers in the world. One is the sword and the other the pen.” International Women’s Day is observed annually on March 8 to promote awareness of women’s rights. Women are frequently denied their basic rights and are the targets of violence. Domestic violence, acid attacks, and other forms of violence are very common in Pakistan. However, prosperity won’t come about unless and until the women are encouraged and supported
