Rawalakot,  (Parliament Times) : Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan while expressing his satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of polls during the second phase of the local government elections in Azad Kashmir has said that the government was committed to fulfill its promise to empower the elected representatives to ensure that the power was transferred to the grassroots level.
“Our vision is to empower the state and its people ”, the PM said adding that holding municipal elections in the state as per the party Chairman’s vision was a matter of great honour for the PTI government.
While talking to the media persons at his residence here today the PM said that after Muzaffarabad division, the people of Poonch also demonstrated a high level of responsibility. He said that it was heartening to see that the polling process concluded peacefully.

He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had promised in its election manifesto that it would transfer power to the lower level by conducting local elections.
” Every promise made to the people will be fulfilled”, he said, adding that the steps taken by the PT regarding the local body elections were being praised by workers of all political parties.

He said that successful conduct of the LG polls would be instrumental in accelerating the pace of development in the liberated territory besides helping resolve the masses’ problems at the local level.

Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan on this occasion expressed his condolences to the families of two persons who died during the election duty and 6 persons who were martyred in the traffic accident on the day of polling in Neelum Valley.

Minister of Civil Defense and SDMA Chaudhry Muhammad Akbar Ibrahim, Sahibzada Hafiz Hamid Raza, Director General Information Raja Azhar Iqbal and Director Information Raja Amjad Hussain Minhas were also present on the occasion.
