FAISALABAD: The MoU signing ceremony between Lyallpur Heritage Foundation district administration and Department of History, Government College University for the promotion of historical heritage and providing opportunities for students and researchers to advance in the field of research was held at the DC office in which Deputy Commissioner/ Chairman Lyallpur Heritage Foundation Imran Hamid Sheikh and representing the Vice Chancellor, Dean of Arts and Social Sciences Dr. Asim Mehmood signed the memorandum of understanding.
In-charge Foundation Bazla Manzoor and Chairman of GC University History Department Professor Dr. Rizwanullah Kokab were also present. Documentation was also exchanged on this occasion. The Deputy Commissioner said that under the MoU, GC University History Department students and the researchers will not only have access to the historic buildings preserved under the Lyallpur Heritage Foundation, but they will further research on them and convey the history of the region to the world through their articles.
He said that this MoU is a revolutionary initiative which will lead to more research. The Deputy Commissioner said that under the auspices of the Lyallpur Heritage Foundation the district administration, various measures are being taken to preserve and restore the cultural and historical buildings of the region so that the future generation is familiar with the history, culture and lifestyle of the region. Dean GC University thanked the Deputy Commissioner and said that MoU a historical initiative that will benefit students in research.
