MUZAFFARABAD,  (Parliament Times) : Chief Election Commissioner Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Retired Abdul Rashid Salharia has appealed to the leaders of all the political parties of Azad Kashmir to mobilize the people with reference to local elections, after Thirty Years there is a historic opportunity in Azad Kashmir that local elections are going to be held. Vote is a national trust, people should exercise their right to vote with full enthusiasm and freedom. The importance of voting for the better and brighter future of the nation and the survival of the democratic process is certain.
It is the first duty of every patriotic citizen to actively participate in the national duty. Citizens are requested to remain peaceful during polling and cooperate with the administration and polling staff.
Candidates participating in local body elections should also advise their supporters to follow the code of conduct. Any person who tries to damage or steal ballot papers or ballot box will be subject to legal action as well as disqualification of the candidate he is supporting.
Appealing to the leaders of all political parties, the Chief Election Commissioner said that political leaders should avoid such statements that spread hatred and give support to evil elements. It is the responsibility of all stakeholders to avoid any action that There is a fear of unrest spreading and the evil elements will get an opportunity to fulfill their nefarious goals. It is a historic opportunity in Azad Kashmir that local body elections are being held after 31 years.
In this regard, political leaders should instruct their workers to participate in this process. He said that voting is a national duty. Every citizen should vote freely and encourage others to participate in this process for a bright future for themselves and their children.
He said that vote is a means of expression and it is the voice of every citizen, make full use of this privilege. Municipal elections are very important in this regard. He said that everyone should fully cooperate with the polling staff at the polling station and take full care of the self-respect of the presiding officers and other election staff posted at the polling station.
Any person who causes any kind of fight inside the polling station will be immediately removed from the polling station by the presiding officer and on resistance, legal action will be taken not only against him but also against the candidate. He will also be disqualified whom he supports.
