Lahore:  A delegation of Iron Merchant Association Misri Shah led by Central President Chaudhry Aamir Siddique and Patron Mian Mushtaq called on Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman here today at Governor House Lahore.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that stability, economic development and provision of basic facilities to the people are the priorities of Muslim League (N). He said that despite the economic challenges, the government is taking steps to provide favorable opportunities to the business community. Governor Punjab said that traders are undoubtedly the backbone of the country’s economy. He said that business not only leads to socio-economic development, but also provides employment opportunities to people. He said that the way the business community actively participated in the rehabilitation of the flood victims is examplary. Governor Punjab further said that the process of rehabilitation of the flood victims is ongoing, an important aspect is to get the flood victims out of the psychological effects. He said that on his directions as Chancellor, Vice-Chancellors of the universities, have worked out a mechanism to bring the flood victims out of trauma and the students of the universities will play an active role in it. He said that moral training and character building along with education should be an integral part of education in the educational institutions.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that instead of spreading despair and hopelessness in the society, positive things should be highlighted. He said that Pakistanis are an excellent nation in terms of charity and welfare work. Governor Punjab said that political stability is inevitable for economic stability. He said that we have to keep the interest of the country above personal interests. Governor Punjab emphasized that continuity of policies is very important for the development of the country. The delegation included Chaudhry Farooq Raza, Abdul Basit, Haji Jameel, Asim Shafi, Muhammad Hasan Butt, Rana Dilshad, Khushi Muhammad and Chaudhry Zulfiqar.
