Rawalpindi ,  (Parliament Times) : Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Saqib Manan presided over the meeting of the Divisional Development Working Party and approved 08 schemes of LG& CD as well as 02 schemes of PHED after detailed discussion. Time period of 24 months has been set for completion of these schemes. Speaking on the occasion, Saqib Manan said that the quality of work should not be compromised in the race to utilize funds. He said that the provision of rigid pavement should be kept in mind for the roads constructed in far flung areas may see delay in release of funds for repair and maintenance so rigid pavement will be helpful for longer life of road. A per details, 02 schemes worth of 157 Million of construction of sewerage/drainage Nullah, retaining wall and PCC streets were approved in Ward No. 02 and Ward No. 08 Rawalpindi Cantonment Board by Public Health.

Likewise schemes of LG&CD Attock worth of 493 Million included 08 schemes of construction of roads of Tehsil Jhand. Construction of 2.88 km long road from Village Dupper to Ratti Kari, 1.1 km long road from Mukhad Road to Muhammad Ali Chowk to Mohalla Moj-e- Darya, 3.36 km long road from Ziarat Chowk to Khalil Khel Gate, 2.93 km from Railway Phatak to Mandi Chhab, Mukhd Road Shaheed Chowk to Dhok Koora Chhapri 3.05 km, Main road Dhokba to Dhok Majal 3.60 km, Dhok Haji Bahram Kani Domel and Dhok Kanati to Dhok Dotal Road Jalwal 3.64 km and Madrasah Mor to Dhok Jhat and Dhok Chashmi to Lakdmar Main road are included in these schemes. Commissioner Rawalpindi said that the repair and construction of main highways as well as link roads is very important which not only facilitates the pedestrians and protect them from accidents but also maintain the flow of traffic.

This DDWP meeting held at Committee room of Commissioner office was attended by Deputy Commissioner Attock Waqar Hassan Cheema, Syed Nafast Raza SE Highway-I, Muhammad Khalid Hafeez SE Buildin-I, Taha Hussain XEN LG&CD, Dilshad Ahmad XEN Highway Rawalpindi and other concerned officers.
