Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times): The leader of the opposition in the legislative assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, the former prime minister of Azad Kashmir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, has said that the government ministers are conspiring to postpone the local body elections. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to hold the elections, it is the government’s responsibility to provide security if the elections are to be held on November 27. The informal meeting of the cabinet has no status, the chief secretary has the authority to propose phased elections, he proposed different phases in violation of the election rules, all the essentials for fair and transparent elections. The Prime Minister, Chief Secretary, Election Commission are constitutionally responsible for the fulfillment. The Supreme Court has also made it clear who is responsible.

The elections should be held on a single day under the supervision of the army. Under the guise of phased elections, the government wants to achieve arbitrary results. There is no question of boycotting the election process. Resources have been spent and campaigns have been conducted. Money and time have been used. There is a continuous election campaign for the past several months. Every day new rumors are being released that they are being postponed. These are government tactics. It is the job of the Election Commission to ensure the peace and order situation. The government has no plan. She is not paying attention to the situation, there is a danger of a serious conflict, there are serious concerns about the role of the Election Commission, the elections are being held on party basis, but the political parties are out of the consultation process.

The coming election which is being held on a party basis is being disturbed People are more interested in this. Instead of talking to the federal government about the security situation, the Prime Minister and the Chief Secretary are limited to just sitting here and giving statements. He was addressing a crowded press conference in the Central House of Journalism. On this occasion, members of the assembly Sardar Javed Ayub, Syed Bazal Naqvi, former minister Syed Shaukat Ali Shah, former assembly candidates Shaukat Javed Mir, Sardar Mubarak Haider, Parvez Mughal and others were also present. Raja Farooq Haider Khan claimed that a large number of ministers are trying to avoid the election And we are being told that you should find a way to postpone the election, some ministers also came to me and told me to get rid of these elections. Chaudhry Latif Akbar and Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan said that the government had the best opportunity to conduct these elections in light of the Supreme Court’s decision. The situation is determined by consultation The blood seems to be getting worse among them.

The government of Azad Kashmir does not have thirty-three thousand people and the government of Pakistan is not in a position to give it. Even if these issues can be resolved, there are forums, institutions, personalities and above all political parties. There are those who can be consulted but unilateral action is being taken and political parties are being kept out of the consultation process. The government is doing all this so that the people are not ready, new scandals are being deliberately released every day, the date of polling can be changed by consultation, but the government is only trying to gain its political advantage so that there are phased elections. And the government missionaries should use their influence everywhere to get desired results. If there was no sit-in, there would have been no problem in holding the elections. Despite reservations about constituencies, the opposition decided to take part in the municipal elections keeping in mind the wishes of the people. The Election Commission has not spoken to the political parties on security and other issues till now. The date of polling can be shifted back and forth or with a gap of one or two months, but the government is putting the system and the peaceful atmosphere of the region at stake in the process of point-scoring, the results of which can be dangerous. They will not leave the field open for the government. The excitement in the elections is making it clear that the opposition parties are winning with a huge majority, seeing that the government is trying to use negative tactics such as phased elections etc.
